The Taiwan Football Premier League (TFPL) is the top professional football league in Taiwan, founded in 2017. It is currently sponsored by Taiwan Mobile and consists of six teams.
The league follows a double round-robin format, with each team playing 10 matches in total. The top two teams at the end of the season compete in a championship final.
The TFPL has helped to raise the profile of football in Taiwan and has also provided opportunities for local players to develop their skills and play at a higher level. The league has also attracted some international players and coaches, including Portuguese coach Jose Morais who became the league's first foreign manager in 2019.
Despite being a relatively new league, the TFPL has already seen some success on the international stage, with Taiwan's national team achieving some impressive results in recent years.
